Are you ready to take the next big step in your culinary career? Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is seeking an Assistant d|bar Manager who shares our passion for exceeding guest expectations and is eager to learn from, and contribute to, our Food and Beverage Management Team.

About the role:

d|bar by Chef Daniel Boulud is located in the historic Village of Yorkville, Toronto’s most luxurious shopping and dining district. Offering impressive views of Yorkville Avenue, this stylish lobby lounge offers refined cocktails, contemporary dining, and a vibrant social atmosphere. The venue transforms seasonally with offerings such as its summer patio, d|azur, and an elegant afternoon tea, alongside rotating menus and special experiences throughout the year.

As Assistant d|bar Manager, you will support the d|bar General Manager in the day to day operation of the outlet. You will play a key role in maintaining service excellence, driving beverage programming and sales performance, and leading a dynamic front-of-house team within one of Toronto’s premier luxury lounge destinations. You will be a visible and influential presence on the floor, leading by example and fostering a positive, professional, and performance driven culture.

What you will do:

  • Support the overall operation of d|bar across all meal periods, ensuring smooth, efficient, and consistent service delivery.

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate front of house Food & Beverage teams by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management, including corrective action when required.

  • Assist with staff scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage, operational efficiency, and compliance with labour targets, while controlling overtime and labour costs.

  • Maintain a strong, visible presence on the floor to monitor service quality, uphold service standards, and ensure exceptional guest experiences at all times.

  • Drive beverage sales through team coaching, upselling initiatives, guest engagement, and strong product knowledge.

  • Support the execution and evolution of the cocktail, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverage programs in collaboration with the General Manager and Bar leadership team.

  • Greet and engage guests in a professional, warm, and unobtrusive manner, building relationships with new and returning patrons while handling complaints, concerns, and special requests with confidence and care.

  • Collaborate closely with Culinary and Front of House leadership to coordinate service, update menus, and support the development and execution of special offerings and promotions.

  • Maintain awareness of beverage trends, competitor activity, and Toronto market developments to support innovation and positioning within the luxury bar scene.

  • Support revenue generation initiatives through strategic floor management, guest engagement, beverage sales focus, and operational efficiencies.

  • Prepare and review daily and weekly payroll, labour reports, and all required operational and revenue‑related documentation accurately and on time.

  • Monitor inventory levels of food, beverage, supplies, and operating equipment; participate in regular inventories; and support cost control, purchasing, and waste reduction initiatives.

  • Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with team members, management, and other departments, including daily logs and participation in operational meetings.

  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and accountable workplace culture that reflects the organization’s values and commitment to service excellence.

What you will bring:

  • 2 - 3 years of management experience, ideally within a luxury hotel, fine‑dining, or high‑profile bar environment.

  • Strong expertise in spirits, wine, cocktails, beverage trends, and bar operations.

  • In‑depth knowledge of the Toronto restaurant scene.

  • Exceptional guest‑interaction and problem‑solving skills, with a natural ability to build long‑term guest relationships.

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to remain composed under pressure.

  • Flexibility, professionalism, and a genuine passion for hospitality aligned with Four Seasons culture and values.

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong command of the English language; additional languages are a definite asset for career growth.

  • Flexibility to work shifts based on operational needs.

  • Valid Smart Serve Certification.

What we offer:

  • Paid time off, including vacation days, management holidays, and sick days.

  • Exclusive discounts and travel programs with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts worldwide.

  • Complimentary meals per shift in our employee dining room, OASIS.

  • Complimentary dry cleaning of business attire.

  • Excellent training and development opportunities, including educational assistance, discounted eCornell courses, and access to complimentary e‑training.

  • Robust extended flexible benefits plan through Manulife, including medical coverage, HCSA, dental, vision, life insurance, virtual health care, EAP, and DPSP/RRSP/TFSAs.

  • Monthly employee recognition celebrations and bi‑annual employee parties.
