We currently have a career opportunity for a full-time, IT Infrastructure Engineer II based out of our corporate office (Enterprise) in Appleton! After initial onboarding onsite, this position could have the opportunity for hybrid (3+ days onsite/week, 2 remote) work consideration. However, candidates must reside in Wisconsin to be considered. 

The IT Infrastructure Engineer II is responsible for providing technical design, solutioning, and direction across projects, initiatives, and operational teams. This includes consulting on new systems, upgrades, reengineering efforts, and ongoing operational support. This role is responsible for defining, implementing, and managing lifecycle standards for IT services and infrastructure, including data centers, servers, desktops, virtualization/cloud platforms, storage (SAN/NAS), monitoring, and end-user productivity tools. Additionally, this position delivers advanced support to ensure system availability and stability across Fox’s technology environment, while also supporting RFP development, vendor management, and procurement of hardware, software, and services. 

The primary responsibilities of the IT Infrastructure Engineer II role include but are not limited to:

  • Promoting and upholding the Fox Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Providing expert technical consultation across projects; serving as the infrastructure subject matter expert to drive successful delivery of initiatives
  • Researching, planning, and implementing new or enhanced infrastructure components and systems to support lifecycle management, key initiatives, and operational reliability
  • Providing operational support to maintain system availability and stability, delivering expert-level troubleshooting and deep technical assistance as needed
  • Developing and documenting installation and configuration processes, including system diagrams, overviews, SLAs, and transition support materials
  • Administering and managing capacity across infrastructure services, including servers, Active Directory, storage/backup, virtualization, operating systems, and end-user tools
  • Researching, recommending, and implementing innovative solutions to improve processes, leveraging automation and existing tools where appropriate
  • Assisting and/or overseeing special projects as required
  • Creating and sharing KPIs to measure and communicate the overall health and performance of supported systems

Candidates for the IT Infrastructure Engineer II position should possess:

  • Minimum: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems certification or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business
  • Certifications such as: MCSE, VCP, and/or SCSN desirable
  • Three or more years of experience working with server operations, systems enterprise, and application technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking, including technologies such as: TCP/IP, routing, virtualization, SAN/NAS, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, cloud vendors and solutions, and IT security
  • Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Batch) knowledge 
  • Advanced experience with telephony systems is a plus
  • Comfortable being engaged in and/or managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Advanced experience with translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting complex technologies
  • Familiar with DR/BCP practices in relation to hybrid cloud offerings
  • Proven ability to provide efficient and professional response verbally and in writing to all users at all levels of the organization
  • Math: intermediate statistics or advanced algebraic equations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work varied hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
