I. POSITION OBJECTIVEThis position exists to supervise and lead a team of operators to maintain and operate the Utility Water units in an environmentally sound and safe manner to maximize production and minimize production costs. Ensure that we train operators to handle all process situations and ensure that all jobs are done in a safe and healthful working environment that meets environmental, health, and safety regulations and Company requirements. II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY Shift Management: Be accountable for each operator’s safety assigned to me. Be accountable for any permit and OSHA violations for the safe operation of the Utility plants. To assure the complex has a safe and continuous supply of Industrial Water and Demin Water and able to process all Wastewaters within specification under all circumstances. To be accountable for process upsets and resolving the issues associated with those occurrences. Accountability for validating operator time records. Oversee and audit lockouts for maintenance work. Be responsible for the training of operators. Ensure the correct amounts of certified operators are scheduled for a shift. Must be able to handle personnel issues that arise on shift professionally and respectfully. PSM: Take the lead to make sure PSM compliance is maintained in the Utility plants. Use experience to work with GMO PSM Coordinator to ensure PSM procedures are implemented in the most advantageous way to the unit while still meeting Corporate and Site PSM requirements. Lead and Facilitate the Optimization of the Utility plants: Anticipate needs, work as a problem solver to eliminate blockages, and enhance the consistent delivery of quality products that exceed customer expectations. Manage, solve, and/or recommend a resolution to discrepancies, deviations, abnormalities, customer complaints, quality, and non-quality-related issues. Initiate Action and as the Critical Liaison: Coordinate with multiple internal departments, cross-functional representatives, and key external contacts/decision-makers on various decision-making processes. Manage, Analyze, Integrate, and Administer Solutions to Improve Efficiency: Gather, compile, analyze, report, and make recommendations with critical impact to production planning, credit, quality, logistics, and customer service. Comply with company policy/procedures to streamline day-to-day processes, workflow, and related practices. Leadership and Staff Development: Evaluate the contract operators from the Process Operator Program. Develop each individual’s talents to the fullest, creating an environment that supports collaboration, cross-functional team, and information sharing. THM: Promote cleanliness and order through implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant like new condition. III. QUALIFICATIONSA. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA1. Previous Related Experience RequiredA minimum of five (5) years' experience in Chemical/Petrochemical Operations as a chemical operator. UT1 Water operations and board experience preferred. 2. Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job• Personal computer and applicable software including the ability to learn new systems that the company introduces.• Use of hand tools, gauges, indicators, operation of DCS and sample testing equipment.• Good interpersonal and communication skills.• Good business writing ability.• Good organizational skills that allow the management of multiple issues• Able to control the process on DCS (Process computers/controllers).• Possess knowledge of Analytical Instruments 3. EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of direct job-related experience required, with a process chemical operator course preferred. 4. Other Certification/Training Required• Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.• Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements forcurrent position, as specified in the Master Training Plan.• Continual development as required such as: Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), &Master Training Plan (MTP).
