Medical Lab Technician | Freeman Springdale | Full-Time

Full-time, 40 hours per week

• Microbiologist

Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under supervision by the section chief technologist. Insures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program. Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department's policies and procedures. Maintains records and statistical data according to regulative requirements. Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures. Collects chain of custody urine drug screens as required. Assists as needed in all laboratory areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care.

• Associate degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; or have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician); and high school diploma or equivalent.

• 1 year of acute care experience

• MLT (ASCP), MLT (AMT) or equivalent certification
