Position Overview: Friends of Acadia is seeking enthusiastic and friendly individuals to join our team as Membership Table Volunteers. This role involves engaging with park visitors, promoting the mission of Friends of Acadia, and encouraging membership sign-ups and donations to support the preservation and protection of Acadia National Park. 


 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Engage with Visitors: Greet and interact with park visitors at designated membership tables located throughout Acadia National Park. 
  • Promote Membership: Inform visitors about the benefits of becoming a member of Friends of Acadia and how their support contributes to the park's conservation efforts. 
  • Provide Information: Answer questions about Friends of Acadia, membership benefits, and ongoing projects and initiatives. 
  • Distribute Materials: Hand out brochures, membership forms, and other informational materials to visitors. 
  • Record Keeping: Maintain
    accurate records of membership sign-ups and donations received during your shift.
     
  • Set Up and Take Down: Assist with the setup and takedown of the membership table and materials at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Good Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate information to visitors. 
  • Dependable: Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to scheduled shifts. 
  • Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff members.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in customer service or public-facing roles is a plus. 
  • Basic Record-Keeping Skills: Ability to maintain
    accurate records of membership sign-ups and donations.
     


 

Training Provided: 

  • Orientation Session: All new volunteers will attend an orientation session to learn about Friends of Acadia, our mission, and the role of the Membership Table Volunteer. 
  • Role-Specific Training: Volunteers will receive training on how to effectively engage with visitors, promote membership, and handle common questions and scenarios. 
  • Materials and Resources: Volunteers will be provided with all necessary materials, including brochures, membership forms, and informational guides. 
  • Ongoing Support: Volunteers will have access to ongoing support from Friends of Acadia staff and experienced volunteers to ensure they feel confident and prepared in their role.
