Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Description: Proficient in IEP development and progress / goal monitoring reports for elementary / ECSE students.
Job functions and duties will include: Familiar with all aspects of early childhood developmental stages, provide students with specialized instruction based on unique needs resulting from identifies disabilities, monitor individual student’s progress utilizing data that reflects student performance on IEP goals, act as case manager for assigned students and write IEP’s to meet the individual student needs, communicate effectively with parents, team members, staff, and agency representatives, establish and maintain a safe, orderly and child centered classroom environment, and acting as a day to day supervisor of classroom paraprofessionals.
Physical demands: able to comfortably lift 50 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Missouri teacher certificate for the appropriate level is preferred.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Assess the progress of the students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect the students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
- Comply with all district policies, rules and regulations.
- Develop classroom rules and maintain order in a fair and just manner.
- Be available to the students and parents for education-related purposes.
- Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s) and, cooperatively with department heads.
- Participate in district and campus staff development.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees.
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues.
- Prepare and submit lesson plans in a timely manner in the platform the school utilizes.
- Maintain a minimum number of grades in the grade book in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
