ProFound Therapeutics is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Co-Op/Intern with experience in cell biology and/or oncology to play a vital role in the company’s Oncology team. This individual will contribute scientific and technical expertise to a multidisciplinary team, emphasizing conceptualization, experimentation, data analysis, presentation, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in cellular biology and be enthusiastic and capable of working in a multidisciplinary (e.g. genomics, bioinformatics, protein biochemistry) team in the biosciences. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced entrepreneurial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan and execute experiments that support research activities, project goals and platform development
- Server as a contributor to the Oncology team, whose mission is to discover new therapeutics and validate new therapeutic targets
- Report experimental plans and results to the scientific team
- Proactively review literature to contribute to new ideas, methods/technologies for discovery and therapeutic areas
Requirements
~1 min read- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in oncology and/or cell biology or related field, such as biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or protein sciences.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner
- Strong collaborative skills with evidence of working in a team
- Prior industry or academic research co-op experience in Cell Biology
- Experience with cell based assay development
- Basic knowledge on Flow cytometry and/or immunoblots
- Confident execution, focused and team-oriented with an ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
- Experience with data analysis using Graphpad Prism and Microsoft Excel.
