Senior Civil EIT 1

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking a Senior EIT 1 to work within our Civil and Environmental Business Sector. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their related experience to develop professionally and grow in today's global environment. This position is eligible for GAI’s flexible Hybrid workplace place/Telework Policy.

• Plans, designs, and facilitates civil engineer project design tasks
• Undertakes technical and feasibility studies.
• Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with clients.
• Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs.
• Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Performs work under professional engineering staff.
• Handles basic issues and problems but will refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Possesses working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and civil engineering design tasks.
• Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required.
• This position requires local/regional travel and should be expected to be 20-40% (1-2 days per week as needed for project-related work/occasional overnight travel) 

• Develops broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area.
• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
• Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.
• Applies principles of probability and statistics to determine risk relevant to engineering.

• 4+

• B.S. or M.S. Engineering

• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) or engineering-intern (EI) certification.

• →Performs moderate design tasks.
• →Prepares portions of plans, specifications, and other project documents.
• →Performs research and field investigation.

• →Receives instruction on specific objectives.
• →Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems and possible solutions.
• →Receives a thorough review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgment.
• →Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer typically in their specialty.

• Works as a part of a team and coordinates work with others.
• Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.

• Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates assertiveness and cooperation in managing conflicts.
• Interacts with internal and external project team members.
• Assists with official communication pertaining to specific assignments/meetings.
