Accessibility and Academic Support specialist

• Identify, assess and document accessibility requirements of students and staff
• Provide assistive technology and accessibility support, including guidance on the selection, activation and use of assistive technologies, accessibility features, captioning, speech-to-text, text-to-speech and alternative formats
• Support the pedagogical and technical development of accessible content and learning environments and provide consultation on accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
• Identify and document accessibility barriers across physical, digital and other University environments and contribute to their improvement
• Develop and deliver training, information and awareness activities on disability, accessibility, assistive technology, UDL and inclusive practices for academic and administrative staff
• Collaborate and coordinate with relevant University services and external professionals
• Assist and provide administrative support to the CAPS-D

• Bachelor’s degree in Education Sciences or field relevant to pedagogy, disability and inclusion, or psychology, or Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy
• Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Special and Inclusive Education; Disability Studies; Assistive Technology; Accessibility / Digital Accessibility; Educational Technology / Learning Technologies

• Professional or practical experience of at least two years
• Demonstrated knowledge of disability, inclusion and accessibility, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and/or Universal Design principles

• Demonstrated knowledge of assistive technology and/or accessibility technologies, particularly in educational or workplace contexts
• Good understanding of accessibility and inclusive practices in higher education
• Full fluency in Greek and English languages
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, administrative staff and other professionals
• Strong organisational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to confidentiality, respect for individual choice and dignity, and a rights-based approach to disability and accessibility
