| GCI's Estimating & Planning Engineer I will perform research, data gathering, and analysis of technology and business roadmaps for the purposes of producing Class 5 and Class 4 estimates, associated engineering, and schedules associated with Intake, Conceive and Validate stage gates. Produce reports and presentations interpreting results for stakeholders and customers. Following standards using engineering principles, participate with engineering functions as needed for company initiatives requiring interdisciplinary leadership. | ||||

Requirements
~1 min readThis is an entry level position for the degreed engineer. Must be competent at performing basic engineering calculations, design, and implementation for further review by senior staff. Under supervision, provides Class 5 and Class 4 estimates, engineering, and schedules associated with Intake, Conceive and Validate stage gates. Requires close supervision and work is reviewed throughout process/project; supports senior staff and completes tasks on time and within budgeted costs.
Nice to Have

- Telecommunications experience.
- Relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.
- Certified Cost Technician (CCT)
- Certified Estimating Professional (CEP)
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires driving a company-owned vehicle, company provided vehicle, or a personal vehicle on behalf of the company. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and successfully complete Defensive Driving course.
- Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
- Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
- Some travel required to sites that include inside/outside work, noise, inclement weather, vibrations, cramped quarters, and working at heights.
- May encounter angry customers, vendors, or employees.
- Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
- Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
- Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.
- Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.
- Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
- Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.
