***This is a Seasonal position from late May to early October working at a beautiful remote lodge 7 days a week. This position is also eligible for location differential***

GCI's Guest Services Expeditor will perform guest services, expeditor duties, and routine housekeeping at the company’s Dillingham hangar. Using a company provided vehicle, conduct various errands around Dillingham including mail pick-up, obtaining supplies from local businesses, and grocery pick-up from air cargo services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:

Guest Services:

  • Act as an ambassador of GCI by delivering a superior arrival and departure experience for all guests.
  • Greet guests arriving on private planes, charters, or commercial aircraft with a friendly and professional demeanor. 
  • Escort passengers to and from the aircraft and the GCI hangar in compliance with FAA regulations, directing them to appropriate areas or staff.
  • Assist with transfer of luggage and supplies between aircraft arriving on flights from Anchorage and the Agulowak Retreat.
  • Communicate with Agulowak Retreat personnel to coordinate flight schedules, passenger manifests, and procurement of supplies.
  • Ensure the Agulowak Retreat has the supplies and inventory it needs to function according to schedule.
  • Identify and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Routinely pick up mail and packages from the post office ensuring they remain fully secure until delivery to the aircraft.  
  • Pick up needed supplies from various Dillingham businesses as requested and ensure timely delivery to the appropriate flight. 
  • Pick up grocery delivery one to two times per week from air cargo services and ensure timely delivery to the appropriate flight.
  • Ensure all perishable items follow food safety guidelines and maintain a safe temperature, utilizing onsite refrigeration to appropriately store items as needed until the next flight.
  • Keep Agulowak Retreat staff informed about order status, priorities, and any issues that arise.
  • Assist with keeping the Dillingham hangar and guest common areas clean and organized.
  • Perform routine cleaning of bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, straightening, and periodic window cleaning.
  • Restock supplies in the guest common areas, including snacks and beverage items.
  • Transfer refuse from aircraft to onsite dumpster.
  • Keep GCI vehicles fueled and clean for the use of GCI hosts and guests.

  • TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY - Proficient computer skills and MS Office knowledge (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) to complete job duties effectively, such as using the company intranet and to accurately retrieve and input information into database or equivalent.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires driving a company-owned vehicle, company provided vehicle, or a personal vehicle on behalf of the company. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and successfully complete Defensive Driving course.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:  
  • Work includes working inside and outside in typical Alaska weather conditions.
  • Ability to tolerate temperature and weather extremes found in the Alaskan environment (dust, low light conditions, rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind, temperature extremes, etc).
  • Ability to safely work in an aircraft hangar environment (noise, fumes, odors, flammable materials, etc).
  • Ability to safely move, transport, position, and maneuver supplies of up to 70-pound loads occasionally, up to 50-pounds more regularly, up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Auditory acuity necessary to distinguish between aircraft/equipment signals and the human voice often amidst background noises, such as wind, rain, and traffic.
  • Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
  • Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
  • Ability to make valid judgments and decisions. 
  • Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary. 
  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.

Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the core business hours to respond to the immediate emergency.
