Perform 3KW – 150 KW maintenance to include EPP III Engine, Main Gen, and Control Panel overhaul, troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and services on all types of military and commercial generators and HVAC systems used by the U.S. Army.
As a Generator rebuild and HVAC Technician, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Worldwide Field Support contract for the U.S. Army. You’ll play a crucial role in providing on-site technical and maintenance assistance, analyzing complex technical problems, and providing training to site operations and maintenance personnel.
● Perform overhaul, maintenance and sustainment support on 3kW to 150kW, 50\60\400hz generators involving installation and removal of generators from fixed and mobile locations, troubleshoots and repair alternating current (AC) systems, direct current (DC) systems, electronic control systems and other program logic controls, electrical wiring and accessories.
● Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, Chillers, and Environmental Control Units – some are standalone units and others are mounted on trailers and vehicles.
● Maintain all types of commercial power generation equipment; military spec generators and Uninterrupted Power Systems (UPS).
● Operate a Load bank and dynometer during testing
● Fabricate wire harnesses and solder terminals.
● Some work will be in a generator shop environment, and some work will be in a field environment.
● Other duties as assigned.
Bring your Generator and HVAC expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Generator and HVAC Mechanic must have:
- Education/Experience: High School diploma & 6 yrs or BA/BS plus 2 years’ experience, AA/AS/plus 4 years’ experience,
- Technical skills: Extensive diesel engine rebuild and generator experience. Knowledge of generator parallel systems and switch gear.
- Experience with brazing copper tubing and evacuating and recharging refrigerant.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within 12 months of the start date
- Citizenship: US citizenship required
- Role requirements: US passport must not expire for at least 2 years, valid US driver’s license, and an international driver’s permit (AAA)
- Must pass all medical requirements of CRC in order to deploy to the CENTCOM Area of Operations

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location.
