Lead Software Engineer

The individual will be part of Channel and Data AI Customer Self-Served team. As a Lead Software Engineer, you are responsible in application design, development, enhancement & maintenance of various applications according to business needs and requirements.

• Responsible for delivery of interface solutions to internal and external systems. 

• Responsible for impact analysis, architecture, solutioning, design, coding, unit testing, and deployment.

• Comply with the software development process and deliver the required documents and specs.

• Responsible for code review, non-functional test to ensure good quality of the delivery.

• Lead a team to conduct feasibility studies on various technology and services options and recommend appropriate solutions to meet GE business requirements.

• Provide guidance to junior developers and ensure the solution aligned with IT strategy

• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.

• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.

• Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

• Graduate in Computer related studies or Information Technology

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in application development using agile or DevOps methodology and 3 years in leading software development team.  Knowledge of Insurance domain is an advantage.

• Proficient in web application development using Java technology

• Proficient in PL/SQL, Oracle Database

• Proficient in Database Design and analysis

• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) will be advantageous

• Familiar with monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Granfana) will be advantageous

• Worked in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery environment with strong appreciation of change/version control process and methodologies.

• Worked with automation tools (such as Selenium, SOAPUI, Bamboo, Jenkins, Ansible, Marvin, Github, Bitbucket, etc.)

• Working knowledge of application design frameworks, UML or equivalent design artifacts is required.

• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, HPQC, ServiceNow, etc.).

• Knowledge of emerging technologies/platforms in Mobility, Analytics, Cloud, GenAI and AGI with a strong self-initiative to keep up with Digital trends.

• Application performance monitoring and tuning experience is desired.

• Working experience in a financial services industry and/or operating under strict regulatory constraints is an advantage.

• Worked on / have certification in Cloud technologies is an advantage.
