Responsibilities

  • →Build and manage a team of AI governance professionals committed to leading and enhancing GEICO’s model and AI governance program, including frameworks, policies and processes, to address emerging AI risks in alignment with existing and evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • →Partner with business leaders, technology teams, and legal and compliance stakeholders to embed responsible AI practices throughout the company
  • →Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure AI initiatives are delivered with appropriate risk controls and in support of business goals
  • →Oversee and maintain a comprehensive model and AI inventory, ensuring all AI/ML models are tracked and managed throughout their lifecycle
  • →Assess and monitor AI-related risks, providing guidance on risk mitigation strategies and controls while enabling innovation and business growth
  • →Advise on AI system review processes and perform risk assessments to ensure ongoing compliance, transparency, and ethical standards
  • →Facilitate related committees/forums promoting transparency, collaboration, and accountability for AI-related initiatives
  • →Enhance and deliver communication and training to promote a culture of responsible AI use and awareness of governance requirements and AI risk management across the company
  • →Perform controls monitoring and testing to evaluate model performance in line with existing and emerging regulatory requirements
  • →Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal assessments as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics)
  • A minimum of 10 years of Experience in compliance, risk management, and/or governance in AI, technology or data governance, with demonstrated technical understanding of and experience in assessing risk of AI/ML use cases, platforms, and models, including Generative AI
  • Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills, with a proven track record of working effectively across multiple business units, technology and AI teams, and legal, compliance and risk functions
  • Strong strategic focus in addressing evolving AI risks, including ability to balance sound risk management with business strategy and priorities, enabling both compliance and commercial success
  • Deep understanding of AI technologies, regulatory frameworks impacting AI risk management and governance, and ethical considerations in AI development and deployment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience designing and/or executing compliance testing, monitoring, audit, model risk assessments, or risk oversight or AI governance programs
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industry preferred
     
  • This is a hybrid role, on-site 3 days per week at our offices in Bethesda, MD; New York, NY; or Cleveland, OH.

Annual Salary

$195,000.00 - $315,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
