My client is one of Europe’s leading chemical and ingredient distributors, connecting global manufacturers with customers across food, nutrition, pharma, industrial and specialty markets. To strengthen our Food Ingredients division, we are looking for a
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Manage and develop a defined portfolio of food ingredients (e.g., starches, sweeteners, proteins, hydrocolloids, functional systems, nutraceuticals, Flavours, fragrances ).
- Monitor product performance, pricing, margins, and stock levels.
- Identify portfolio gaps and propose new products or suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with EU food regulations, specifications, and documentation.
- Act as the primary contact for assigned suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, annual agreements, and commercial terms.
- Coordinate forecasts, tenders, and supply chain planning.
- Support supplier onboarding and product launches.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Develop go‑to‑market strategies for new products.
- Support sales teams with technical and commercial expertise.
- Conduct customer visits, product presentations, and training sessions.
- Provide pricing guidance, product positioning, and application know‑how.
- Prepare sales tools: datasheets, presentations, value propositions.
- Participate in customer meetings and trade shows (e.g., Fi Europe, Vitafoods I).
- Collaborate closely with regional sales managers across Europe.
- Work with logistics, quality, regulatory, and marketing teams.
- Ensure smooth product availability and complaint handling.
- Support digital initiatives (CRM, product data, online catalogues).
Requirements
~1 min read- Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or similar.
- 3–7+ years experience in food ingredients, distribution, or B2B food manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of food applications (bakery, dairy, beverages, savoury, nutrition etc.).
- Experience with suppliers or customers in Europe is a strong advantage.
- Strong commercial mindset with technical understanding.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Analytical, structured, and proactive working style.
- Comfortable in an international environment.
Experience as a Product Manager in Food Industry.
