About the Role

~1 min read

We’re looking for an early-career Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer who is excited to apply their technical foundation to the design and development of a modern enrichment plant.

In this role, you’ll help design, analyze, test, and evaluate electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and associated equipment that are critical to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, gaining hands-on exposure across the full engineering lifecycle—from early design and system analysis through testing, commissioning, and production.

You’ll also have the opportunity to take real ownership of systems, see your work move from concept to operation, and build broad technical experience in a fast-moving environment.  If you seek high-impact and are excited by fast-paced, intense, Skunkworks-style projects, we encourage you to reach out to join our team.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Design, develop, analyze, test, and evaluate electrical equipment and systems, ranging from low-voltage DC to high-voltage three-phase systems, including related components and infrastructure.
  • Analyze and design onsite power generation systems, including microgrids, natural gas generators, and integrated backup power systems with a focus on load management, reliability, and grid interconnectivity.
  • Evaluate electrical load profiles and energy demands to develop optimized onsite generation strategies and power distributions configurations.
  • Support operation, maintenance, and improvement of facility systems, such as grounding, lighting protection, fire alarms, circuit breakers, uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), battery systems, and transformers.
  • Support the planning, design, and implementation of electrical control systems and modifications, integrating various electrical components and accommodating diverse power distribution requirements.
  • Develop and provide detailed specifications and design documentation for contractors and project stakeholders, ensuring timely, code-compliant, and high-quality delivery of work.
  • Collaborate closely with and receive mentorship from senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience in advanced electrical design, analysis, and system integration while contributing to complex power and control projects.

Requirements

~1 min read
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline.
  • Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc).
  • Strong understanding of one or more of the following: electrical systems architecture, circuit design, I&C systems, power systems, and/or grid management.
  • Ability to perform trade studies and make clear recommendations using first principles and engineering fundamentals even with partial information.
  • Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment or a highly technical role requiring a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes or budget constraints.
  • 3+ years of design experience designing electronics (research and extracurricular academic projects qualify).
  • Ability to design and analyze electrical systems in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in circuit design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Experience with asset management.
  • Comfortable quickly learning new analysis methodologies, simulations tools, and circuit topologies.
  • Maintains high standards of technical documentation by ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Proactively communicates progress and risks and contributes to a culture of transparency.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
