GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Team Lead!

Reporting to the Manager of Technical Assembly and Technology, the Manufacturing Team Lead is responsible for leading daily production activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of products. This role provides frontline leadership to a team of manufacturing employees, coordinates workflow and resources, monitors production performance, and promotes a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork. The Manufacturing Team Lead serves as the primary point of contact on the production floor, ensuring that production schedules are achieved while maintaining compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Core Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of the Manufacturing Team Lead is to build on the responsibilities of the Coordinator role.

People Leadership

• Role model and a champion of
  GeoSpectrum’s culture, and values.
• Lead, coach, and support a team of production employees to achieve operational objectives.
• Monitor workflow, team staffing levels, and resource allocation to maximize productivity.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding and performance evaluations.
• Contribute  to employee engagement through team building, recognition, training, and performance management.
• Assist with performance management activities, including goal setting, coaching, and disciplinary actions when required. Provide on-the-job mentorship, coaching and feedback.
• Review weekly timesheets and manage attendance.
• Address basic level Employee Relation matters (with the support of Management and HR).
• Ensure occupational health and safety education, compliance, and reporting.
• Participate and practice ongoing leadership skill development.

Operational Management

• Support management with executing department goals, priorities and team member
• Coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules, quality requirements, and delivery commitments. Lead team standups and report on metrics.
• Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance performance and technical capability.
• Oversee daily operations to provide support for productivity on deliverables, effective communication, questions, and escalations.
• Ensure compliance with established policies, processes, SOPs, and manufacturing best practices. Safety compliance a priority.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, equipment concerns, and process deviations in a timely manner.
  Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support team members with their responsibilities and escalations (setting priorities, scheduling and KPI tracking.)
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to support operational requirements.
• Identify and execute CI solutions for processes, procedures, and standards.
  

Experience and Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field is considered an asset.
• Several years experience in a complex manufacturing or production environment, including experience in a technical advisory/coordination
  
• Demonstrates a high-level knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety requirements
• Demonstrates strong leadership, coaching, employee relations and team development skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence methodologies is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
• Ability to communicate effectively, manage conflict and have constructive, difficult conversations.
• Strong analytical, planning, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Security Requirements

All candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.
