About the Role

Geronimo Power's Market Analytics team is seeking a Market Analytics Intern for Summer 2027. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting power market analysis, forecasting, and energy market research that directly informs renewable energy development and investment decisions. The intern will assist with market modeling, battery storage analytics, data management, and market intelligence initiatives across organized electricity markets.

This role offers exposure to the rapidly evolving energy sector, including renewable generation, battery energy storage, transmission expansion, data center growth, and emerging energy policy trends. The intern will work alongside experienced market analysts and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Development, Investments, Strategy, and Origination. This position will expand on the student's academic knowledge, provide meaningful project work with real business impact, and culminate in a presentation of internship accomplishments to company leadership.

Responsibilities

→Support long-term power market forecasting and analytics across organized electricity markets.
→Assist with power market modeling, forecasting tools, and analytical process improvements.
→Support data engineering, automation, visualization, and reporting initiatives.
→Assist with battery energy storage valuation and optimization analyses.
→Gather, validate, and analyze market data from internal and external sources.
→Research and monitor market fundamentals, industry trends, and regulatory developments impacting renewable energy and energy storage.
→Prepare market intelligence reports, presentations, dashboards, and data visualizations for internal stakeholders.
→Support scenario analysis and assessment of market opportunities and risks.
→Collaborate with Development, Investments, Strategy, and Origination teams to provide actionable market insights.
→Document analytical methodologies, improve data quality, and identify process enhancement opportunities.
→Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Energy Systems, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate findings effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and contribute in a collaborative team setting.

Interest in energy markets, renewable energy, battery storage, electricity market operations, or infrastructure development.
Experience with data analysis, statistical modeling, or quantitative research through coursework, projects, or internships.
Familiarity with programming languages or analytical tools such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
Experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools.
Coursework in economics, energy markets, statistics, forecasting, optimization, or data science.
Demonstrated leadership experience through internships, student organizations, research, or extracurricular activities.

Hands-on experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects.
Exposure to power market forecasting, battery storage analytics, and energy market fundamentals.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on education, prior experience, skills, and demonstrated qualifications.
