Payroll Specialist

Wing Assistant is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage and execute all payroll operations for our growing team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in online payroll platforms, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with HR and leadership teams.

Process accurate and timely payroll on a bi-weekly or monthly basis for all employees.

Manage payroll processing using Wise and other comparable online transfer and payroll platforms.

Calculate wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions in accordance with applicable amounts due.

Review and audit payroll data to identify and correct mistakes, discrepancies, and irregularities before processing.

Verify employee information, hours worked, leave balances, and pay rates for 100% accuracy.

Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve variances promptly.

Collaborate with HR to address and resolve employee payroll disputes, concerns, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions from employees.

Investigate payroll errors and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Maintain comprehensive Payroll Summary Sheets and Cost Sheets for internal reporting and compliance.

Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and finance teams as required.

Track and report on payroll expenses, trends, and forecasts.

Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation in compliance with legal and company standards.

Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.

Stay current with payroll best practices, technology updates, and regulatory changes.

Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless coordination.

Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Administrator, or similar role.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with online payroll and payment platforms (e.g., Wise, Deel, Gusto, ADP, Payoneer).

Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and a proven ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with employees and management.

Ethics: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.

Familiarity with international payroll processing and cross-border payment systems.

Professional Payroll Certification (e.g., CPP or FPC) is a plus.

Background in HR or benefits administration.
