As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and optimization of components across our gas power portfolio. You will collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to deliver high-quality solutions, drive product upgrades, and ensure our designs meet rigorous performance and safety standards. This role requires a balance of technical ownership, innovative problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

→Design & Analysis: Own & lead mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for Airfoils components in gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessory systems.
→Technical Stewardship: Take ownership of mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for factors like thermal growth, manufacturing variation and assembly stack-up to ensure optimal product behavior. Additionally has an ability to manage and navigate through ambiguity in design inputs and challenges the design space for a better process and product.
→Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrate System Level thinking while partnering with engineering experts, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize sub-systems and components.
→Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality, and yield. Apply Lean principles and trends from field learnings to streamline processes and drive innovation.
→Project Delivery: Owns milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices.
→Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by coaching team members and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers.

Requirements

Master’s or bachelor’s in engineering with specialization in Mechanical, Design and Applied Mechanics
Minimum of 6 years of Engineering experience.

Additional 2-3 years of relevant engineering experience in leading key programs
Technical proficiency in engineering software (ANSYS-Classic/Workbench, NX) and programming languages (Python, Excel VBA) for data analysis.
A "Lean" mindset, familiarity with AI-driven tools, and a passion for innovative design.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, inclusive, and fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, with a transparent approach to project management and problem-solving.
