Who are we looking for?

GHD is looking for a Maintenance Planner / Scheduler, who will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and tracking preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities at a wastewater treatment plant (WTP) site. This position works closely with the Site Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Operations staff, and subcontractors to maximize equipment reliability, improve work execution efficiency, and minimize operational downtime through effective maintenance planning and CMMS utilization. The role serves as the primary administrator for maintenance scheduling, backlog management, work order coordination, and maintenance reporting.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and long-range maintenance schedules for plant equipment and facilities.
  • Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work orders, equipment records, maintenance schedules, and asset information.
  • Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities based on manufacturer recommendations, operating history, and equipment condition monitoring data.
  • Generate work packages including scope, labor requirements, materials, tools, permits, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance priorities with the Site Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Lead Operator, and operations personnel.
  • Track maintenance backlog and identify equipment requiring prioritized maintenance attention.
  • Coordinate procurement of spare parts, consumables, rental equipment, and specialized maintenance services.
  • Maintain equipment asset databases, equipment hierarchies, bills of materials, and spare parts inventories.
  • Support development and implementation of predictive maintenance programs utilizing equipment run hours, vibration monitoring, temperature trends, and condition monitoring information.
  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors performing specialized maintenance, inspections, equipment testing, and repair activities.
  • Prepare maintenance reports including:
    • Completed preventive maintenance activities
    • Work order status and backlog
    • One-week and four-week look-ahead schedules
    • Spare parts inventory status
    • Equipment and asset inventories
    • Contractor activity tracking
  • Coordinate outage planning and support major equipment replacement projects.
  • Support root cause analyses and implementation of corrective actions related to equipment failures.
  • Ensure all maintenance records are complete, accurate, and audit ready.

 

What you will bring to the team:

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in maintenance, engineering technology, industrial operations, or related field. 

  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance planning, scheduling, or maintenance coordination experience in an industrial environment. 

  • Demonstrated experience administering CMMS platforms. 

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability principles. 

  • Experience developing work packages, job plans, and maintenance schedules. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. 

  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
