We’re looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist to join WA - Environmental Impact Assessment team.

Our WA - Environmental Impact Assessment business has maintained strong growth in recent years and is currently one of the largest groups in WA, being a leader in impact assessment and approvals, terrestrial ecology, and marine. Our diverse team contributes to a wide variety of projects, with a strategic focus on renewable energy, critical minerals and Defence at a regional, national and global scale.

  • Conduct comprehensive environmental assessments and impact studies in compliance with Australian regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead and contribute to the preparation of high-quality proposals and client-ready technical reports following relevant standards and guidelines, client requirements, and GHD project guidelines.
  • Act as a Project Manager for routine projects, collaborating effectively with project stakeholders to ensure successful client experience in project delivery.
  • Supervise the daily activities of a project or design team including allocating and checking work and providing feedback on performance.
  • Marketing including the development and submission of proposals for routine, low risk projects which at times may involve convincing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate with clients about current work and future needs, provide timely updates on project progress.
  • Supervise, support and train less experienced members of the team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor of Science (Environmental) degree or related field.
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience, with sound knowledge of Commonwealth, State and Local Government environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Applies broad knowledge of a professional discipline or advanced knowledge of technical practices demonstrated in a relevant industry or consulting business.
  • A track record for delivering exceptional client experience, and an eye for business development opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and writing skills, including experience in the preparation of reports for clients and or regulators.
  • Current C class drivers’ licence
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite (excel, word, outlook)
