MERCHANDISER 


Position Overview

 

Supply the gondolas and exhibits efficiently and according to the execution guidelines provided by the Field Force Manager. 



Functions and responsibilities


  1. Places and maintains planogram and other written instructions for products in assigned stores to ensure that items are displayed in the desired manner.
  2. Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of shelf space and products in assigned areas to ensure optimal exposure.
  3. Removes products which are damaged, or which are at or beyond the stipulated expiry cut off from shelves in a prompt manner.
  4. Ensures proper stock rotation by drawing stocks from the stores’ storerooms and repacking shelves when necessary.
  5. Sets up gondola ends when required to increase visibility of products.
  6. Ensures that products have the correct price signs and that they are always visible.
  7. Ensures that any promotional offers that are supposed to be ongoing are being executed in assigned outlets.
  8. Generates required reports, including but not limited to those on stock-outs, damaged goods and expired goods, and informs Sales Representatives of such in a timely manner.
  9. Liaises with Sales Representatives to address any issues which may arise in a timely manner to maintain good working relationships with stores.
  10. Develops trade relationships with customers’ lane supervisors, lane attendants and warehouse personnel.
  11. Plans all intended visits for each day in advance to meet established targets and informs relevant personnel of failure to do so.
  12. Gains approval for and places promotional materials as appropriate.
  13. Receives orders on behalf of Sales Representatives if necessary to ensure a continuous supply of the Company’s products at outlets.
  14. Responsible for the replacement of products from the Store Warehouse to the Sales Floor and exclusively for the client's product portfolio. 
  15. Applies the policies and guidelines defined by the client in terms of gondola accommodation and display of conformity guides and respecting the guidelines/policies and guidelines that each client handles at the POS.
  16. Keep the gondola clean, orderly and with good presentation, maintaining the number of fronts based on the current planogram at the POS
  17. Order products on shelves and displays according to the First Expiry  First Out (FEFO) inventory system.
  18. Complete required reports using the company application.

Education : 

 

  • Secondary 

Experience:

  • At least one (1) year experience in a similar capacity would be an asset.

Competencies:

  •  Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.Basic command of computing
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Detail-oriented.
