We are currently seeking skilled Outside Marine Machinists for a potential 5-year project in Norfolk, VA. This opportunity involves hands-on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals.

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role.

Overview:

Maintain, repair, and install shipboard mechanical systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble, repair, and align pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Install and test propulsion and auxiliary machinery.
  • Operate precision tools for measurements and alignments.
  • Follow shipyard safety and technical work documents.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • 4+ years as a machinist, with at least 2+ years on Navy ships.
  • Completion of a formal trade training program (trade school, military training, apprenticeship, or equivalent) required.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and use precision tools.
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift.
