  • Experience with electronics manufacturing processes (specifically soldering, torque tools, and adhesive application). Optical component assembly (fiber optics and lenses) is also preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow work instructions.
  • Must successfully pass Collins Aerospace training program which will occur in the first month of the job.
  • Experience working in a production environment.

Electrical Assembly performs a variety of repetitive and non-repetitive assembly operations on component parts, sub-assemblies or completed units used in Commercial and/or Military aerospace applications. Monitors the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products. Maintains accurate daily assembly production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis. May earn certification to self-inspect products if adequate quality metrics are sustained.


Responsibilities

  • →Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • →Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • →Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • →Verifies specifications by measuring finished components.
  • →Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • →Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. Will be required to uphold quality principles consistent with aerospace manufacturing standards.
  • →Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • →Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • →Flexibility to support production schedule requiring working overtime hours and alternate shift hours.
  • →May be required to lift/move heavy parts and/or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Must be able to comply with personal equipment standards as they apply to manufacturing.
  • →May be required to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
