Requirements
~1 min readBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (aerospace, industrial, mechanical, manufacturing or similar) and 2 or more years’ experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations or related environment, OR a Master’s Degree in Engineering and minimum 1 year of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations or related environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Hold a current U.S. government-issued Secret Clearance OR be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret Clearance.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification, CORE/Six Sigma Practitioner/professional certification.
Understanding of continuous improvement concepts: DFSS, Red X, Lean, etc.
Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities (specifically 5-axis milling and turning).
Proficiency with Minitab and other statistical software.
Proficient in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics.

Responsibilities

Identify and implement process optimization and control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs/escapes and reduce overall product costs.

Use statistical analysis tools to perform Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming product.

Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization through innovative solutions.

Schedule and facilitate periodic project reviews and ensure validation of MRL gate advancements.

Effectively use scorecards and metrics to ensure progress and lead projects critical to improving manufacturing process capability and quality performance.

To execute the desired process improvement, the candidate will be responsible for project planning, collaborating with various engineering disciplines, and influencing management to implement the desired solutions.

Work with shop floor and support functions; represent manufacturing needs across the organization.
- →
Domestic travel up to 10%.
