Materials Planner – Simpsonville, SC (On-Site)

The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, forecast alignment, and materials availability across multiple Collins Aerospace sites. This role drives visibility, governance, and performance of inventory by collaborating with Operations, Supply Chain, SIOP/SIOE, Finance, Program Management, and Site Leadership. The position requires strong analytical skills, process discipline, and the ability to proactively identify risks and enable data‑driven decision‑making.

• →Inventory & Materials Planning
• →Enable visibility to the impact of short‑ and long‑term demand trends on materials and inventory; maintain records of inputs and rationale for changes.
• →Review and recommend enhancements to Effective Material Planning (EMP) parameters and inventory entitlement policies.
• →Maintain material policies (EMP/IE reviews) and drive optimal inventory levels for assigned commodities and sites.
• →Conduct ABC strata reviews to ensure correct part classification and appropriate planning strategies.
• →Forecasting & Master Data Support
• →Provide materials planning parameter inputs to Master Data Planners (MRP types, MOQs, lot sizes, etc.).
• →Support inventory forecasting, including input/output modeling and management of reason codes for inventory deviations (trapped, stranded, WIP, FG, raw material classifications).
• →Reporting, Analytics & Governance
• →Track metrics, manage entitlement levels, and present inventory rollups with executive insights.
• →Support excess and obsolete material reviews, analysis, and submission.
• →Drive inventory variance reporting and lead problem‑solving activities.
• →Cross‑Functional Collaboration
• →Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, SIOP/SIOE, Finance, Program Management, and site teams to meet inventory targets and ensure materials readiness.
• →Support SIOP processes including supply reviews, pre‑executive reviews, site S&OE, and monthly tiered meetings.
• →Drive escalation and scenario planning for disruptive events (e.g., supplier shortages, market disruptions, customer‑driven changes, strikes).
• →Continuous Improvement
• →Assist in process creation/modifications to improve inventory control, planning capabilities, and forecast accuracy.
• →Eliminate process gaps, streamline cross‑functional handoffs, shorten cycle times, and improve overall inventory performance.
