Requirements
~1 min readTypically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Broad knowledge of multiple machines and machining applications
Experience in manual and CNC machine operation.
Advanced programming skills, preferably on Trak and Bridgeport machines
Knowledgeable in the use of cutting tools with proper speed and feeds
Proven ability to work autonomously and solve complex problems
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints
Aerospace or defense industry experience
Familiar with machining Aerospace materials
Specialized machining certifications or advanced technical education
CAD/SolidWorks software familiarity
Effective communication and mentorship abilities

Responsibilities

Machine, fabricate, assemble, and modify precision tooling, fixtures, jigs and production support equipment from CAD drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.

Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, saws, drill presses, and other machining equipment.

Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams to develop tooling solutions that improve safety, ergonomics, throughput, and product quality.

Troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and equipment issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Recommend and implement improvements to tooling design, manufacturability, durability, and setup efficiency.

Perform precision measurements and inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, optical inspection and other metrology equipment.

Maintain accurate documentation for tooling modifications, repairs, and completed work.

Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, quality standards, and 5S workplace practices.
