What You Will Do

The mission of the software team in Marlborough, MA is to provide world-class software for our customers. We are looking to add software engineers to our development team for a wide array of products including Battle Management, Command & Control, Communications, Effectors, Advanced Sensor Systems, and Surveillance and Warning systems.

Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, employ agile software development techniques and resources to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications
Responsible for some or all of a Software product, contributing as a software team member and possibly leading a small software team.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachlor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or similar technical degree
Experience designing and programming with C++, Java or other object-oriented language
Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications
Experience utilizing Generative AI tools or machine learning-assisted technologies to accelerate technical workflows, automate repetitive tasks, improve code quality, or optimize team delivery
Experience with open systems architecture (OSA) and modular design principles, including designing or developing loosely coupled software components, standardized APIs, or modular system interfaces
Experience identifying and resolving operational, technical, or documentation deficiencies within an engineering environment (Technical Problem Solving)

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) tools (e.g., Git, Atlassian Suite, Azure, Jenkins)
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Azure, Jira, Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory)
Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python)
Experience using Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Scaled Agile (SAFe), or Scrum@Scale, Test-Driven Development (TDD) or DevOps principles
Experience developing, building, or debugging software across diverse operating system environments, such as enterprise Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux/RHEL), commercial Real-Time Operating Systems (e.g., VxWorks, Green Hills INTEGRITY), or Windows development environments
Demonstrated track record of technical adaptability, including quickly learning, evaluating, and applying new programming languages, frameworks, or engineering tools to meet evolving project requirements
Experience managing competing priorities and meeting firm project milestones within dynamic, deadline-driven development or operational environment

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
