About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking an AU Accountant to join one of our clients. In this role, you will support the day-to-day finance function for Australian and international clients as part of the CFO Advisory team. You will be responsible for bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and month-end accounting activities while working closely with the Sydney-based team. This is a long-term opportunity offering exposure to diverse client portfolios, cross-border engagements, and a clear pathway into review and management accounting responsibilities.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform daily bookkeeping activities across a portfolio of Australian and international clients.
- →Complete bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- →Process accounts payable, including supplier invoice management and payment runs.
- →Manage accounts receivable activities, including debtor follow-ups and collection support.
- →Process payroll and assist with Australian superannuation and payroll tax compliance requirements.
- →Prepare month-end workpapers, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- →Support month-end close activities in accordance with a five-business-day reporting timetable.
- →Prepare draft management accounts and financial reports for review by the Sydney team.
- →Maintain organized client files, documentation, checklists, and accounting processes.
- →Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and compliant with established procedures.
- →Collaborate with the Sydney team to support client accounting and reporting requirements.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA qualification completed or currently in progress is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience working with Australian, New Zealand, United Kingdom, or United States clients is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and month-end accounting activities.
- Proficiency in Xero; Xero certification is an advantage.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines effectively.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with offshore and onshore teams.
