About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking an AU Bookkeeper to join one of our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for providing bookkeeping, payroll, compliance, and general accounting support while ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting. You will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing Australian taxation lodgments, maintaining client records, and supporting financial operations in accordance with Australian accounting and taxation practices.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Manage client emails related to financial transactions and administrative tasks.
- →Prepare and process ATO lodgments, including Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), and PAYG Summaries.
- →Process and facilitate superannuation lodgments and payments.
- →Prepare and process payroll tax lodgments and payments.
- →Manage Workers Compensation declarations and related compliance requirements.
- →Prepare and issue PAYG Withholding (PAYGW) Summaries.
- →Prepare management reports and financial information for clients and stakeholders.
- →Set up new client and accounting system accounts as required.
- →Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- →Process customer invoices and customer payments.
- →Maintain accurate debtor and creditor records.
- →Process supplier invoices and payments.
- →Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash records.
- →Process payroll and maintain payroll-related records.
- →Prepare and maintain depreciation schedules.
- →Process accruals and prepayments.
- →Code, record, and reconcile financial transactions.
- →Maintain electronic filing systems for financial and transaction records.
- →Respond to client queries in a professional and timely manner.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, Business Studies, Administration, Management, or a related field.
- CPA qualification is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related role.
- Proven experience preparing ATO lodgments, including BAS, IAS, and PAYG Summaries.
- Proven experience managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and general bookkeeping functions.
- Working knowledge of Australian Accounting Practices and Australian Taxation requirements.
- Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and Receipt Bank.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and thoroughness.
- Strong time management, planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of coordination and project management principles.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Strong client service skills with the ability to respond effectively to client inquiries.
