~1 min readWe are seeking an AU Tax Accountant Supervisor to join one of our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality taxation, accounting, and compliance services across a diverse client portfolio. You will play a key role in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and superannuation reporting while liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on behalf of clients. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is passionate about Australian taxation and enjoys working in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) in accordance with Australian taxation requirements.
- →Prepare and maintain Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) accounts and compliance documentation.
- →Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, Individuals, and Superannuation Funds.
- →Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports and taxation compliance requirements.
- →Prepare payroll reports, Office of State Revenue (OSR) reports, payment summaries, and quarterly superannuation reporting.
- →Review financial information to ensure compliance with Australian accounting and taxation standards.
- →Communicate with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to address client queries, resolve taxation matters, and facilitate compliance requirements.
- →Maintain strong client relationships by providing professional, timely, and accurate accounting and taxation support.
- →Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within accounting and taxation workflows.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- CPA qualification is preferred but not required.
- A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of Australian public accounting experience, including at least three (3) year in a senior or supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, ATO compliance requirements, income tax, GST, CGT, FBT, Division 7A, payroll tax, and taxation advisory services.
- Experience reviewing tax returns and financial statements for various entity structures.
- Experience preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax advisory services, tax planning strategies, complex entity structures, and current ATO legislation, with experience handling high-net-worth individuals, trusts, companies, partnerships, and self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs).
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, MYOB, APS, XPM, HandiSoft, Class, Microsoft Excel, and other Australian accounting and taxation software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and professional standards.
