About the Position:
We are seeking an Audit Manager to join one of our clients. In this role, you will lead audit and accounting engagements, manage client relationships, and mentor team members while ensuring high-quality deliverables. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA with strong US GAAP and GASB knowledge, particularly those with Community College industry experience, to take on a key leadership role in a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with the firm's policies and procedures;
- Perform audit and/or accounting necessary procedures as needed or as assigned;
- Meet the billable hours set by the firm;
- Overall successful completion of client engagements including but not limited to compilations, reviews, and compliance;
- Monitoring the progress of the engagements handled and timely resolution of the audit findings;
- Deliver projects/engagements on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction;
- Develop positive working relationships with clients as well as with internal co-workers;
- Generate reports that identify and address areas of significant risk and evaluate the overall effectiveness of operations;
- Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that positively influence the organization's operation;
- Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends;
- Prepare complex client correspondence including recommendations, technical issues, and proposals;
- Oversee the efforts of client service teams on client engagements, while managing and mentoring staff and senior accountant colleagues;
- Recognize the opportunity to provide new and innovative services and demonstrate the ability to pursue such opportunities;
- Retain and develop new clients, including cultivating opportunities to cross-sell the firm's full range of client services;
- Handle and manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects and engagements on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction, including clear and concise working papers and financial statements;
- Often must lead or participate in a cooperative effort among members of a project team;
- Continual learning of rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA and pronouncements of the FASB and AICPA;
- Demonstrate professionalism; and
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary and ability to work additional hours as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any relevant course
- Certified Public Accountant is highly desirable
- Minimum of 6 years of working experience in external audit
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Has working knowledge of US GAAP and GASB
- Has experience handling engagement for the healthcare, manufacturing, and/or distribution industries
- Experience in Community College industry is highly advantageous
- Ability to utilize advanced Excel tools, including Pivot Tables, VLookup
- Has excellent oral and verbal communication skills
- Amenable to work in a hybrid work arrangement
- Willing to work on a night shift schedule
