In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

 

To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:

 

Camp Attendant 

The Camp Attendant is responsible for maintaining the outdoor areas to ensure they are clean, safe, and attractive. Duties include mowing different areas on site, collecting and properly disposing of waste (including household waste, general waste, sanitary waste, and sewage waste), fogging and Rodent control, and supporting general maintenance work. The position also requires assistance to various disciplines (plumbing, carpentry, AC Installation, Electrical works, Welding, and planners).

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Mowing grass at various locations on the Oko West grounds.
  • Collecting waste and keeping the ground clean and tidy.
  • Collecting and disposing of waste from designated areas.
  • Maintenance of walkways and other outdoor areas around.
  • Reporting safety risks or maintenance issues.
  • Conducting fogging activities on site for mosquito and pest control according to schedule.
  • Implementing rodent control measures, including monitoring, placing bait, and reporting infestations.
  • Assisting other disciplines, such as plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning (AC), electricity, welding, and the planners' team.
  • Supporting general maintenance and repair work as needed.


Qualifications/Skills and Experience

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
  • Ability to safely use basic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety practice



Working Conditions

  • Position based at the OKO Project site. 
  • Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
  • Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
