In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of construction crews on-site.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to the project schedule.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including proper safety equipment and procedures.
- Inspect construction work to ensure it meets project specifications, local codes, and quality standards.
- Lead team meetings and ensure clear communication of project expectations to crew members.
- Coordinate the delivery and management of materials, tools, and equipment needed for the project.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on the job site in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, completed work, and any delays or issues encountered.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to report on progress and address concerns.
- Ensure proper documentation of work completed for compliance and warranty purposes.
- Perform safety audits and inspections regularly to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide training and mentorship to construction workers and laborers.
Requirements
~1 min read- A Technical Certificate and or Diploma in civil engineering or related field or on the job experience for at least 10 years.
- At least 5 years working in construction with a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
- Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Position based at the OKO Project site. Fly-in/Fly-out.
- Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
- Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
