Senior Software Development Engineer

Location Details: Colombia, remote

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

• Design, develop, and operate scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js, Python, Java or similar technologies to support customer-facing applications, AI-powered experiences, and data-driven products.
• Drive technical design and architecture decisions for reliable, maintainable, and highly available distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven applications.
• Build and integrate AI-powered capabilities using LLMs, AI orchestration workflows, and model-serving services to enable intelligent automation and enhanced customer experiences.
• Develop and maintain data and ML integration pipelines that support batch and real-time inference, feature consumption, and model-driven business capabilities.
• Own end-to-end delivery of complex engineering initiatives, from solution design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and operational workflows to ensure reliable releases and efficient production operations.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Business Analytics, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and measurable customer outcomes.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing while promoting engineering best practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

• 5+ years of experience building scalable distributed backend systems with strong proficiency in Java and TypeScript, including solid knowledge of REST API design, data modeling, and integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from planning through production. Demonstrated success navigating ambiguity, turning unclear requirements into actionable plans, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with SQL databases and familiarity with data pipelines and data-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud-based applications on AWS or Azure, including deployment, monitoring, reliability, and scalability.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, databases, messaging systems, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerized applications, and production monitoring and alerting.
• Experience integrating external services, data platforms, or ML models into backend applications and production workflows.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives from architecture and implementation through deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with experience collaborating across engineering and cross-functional teams.

• Experience building AI-powered applications using LLMs, such as OpenAI or Anthropic models, including tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt orchestration, and structured output validation.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and production ML workflows, including model inference, feature pipelines, model evaluation, and model monitoring.
• Experience with AWS ML and data services such as SageMaker, Glue, EventBridge, or similar platforms, particularly for integrating model inference into production systems.
• Knowledge of vector databases, semantic search, and retrieval systems used in AI-powered applications.
• Experience with React, Next.js, or other modern front-end technologies.
• Experience mentoring engineers, influencing technical direction, and driving adoption of engineering, AI, and operational best practices.
