• →Inspect, diagnose and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment 

• →Perform preventive maintenance and annual inspections 

• →Troubleshoot Cummins, Mack and Detroit Diesel engines 

• →Diagnose and repair electrical, air brake, steering, suspension, drivetrain, HVAC and hydraulic systems 

• →Diagnose and repair ECMs, TCMs and ACMs 

• →Perform transmission, differential and suspension repairs based on skill level 

• →Utilize fleet maintenance software to review vehicle history, document repairs and complete work orders 

• →Respond to service calls and equipment breakdowns as needed 

• →Fabricate and weld components when required 

• →Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment 

• →Communicate with drivers and operators to improve equipment reliability 

• →Support and mentor less experienced mechanics as appropriate 

• High school diploma or GED 

• Experience with heavy-duty trucks, fleet vehicles or heavy equipment 

• Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes and emissions systems 

• CDL Class B with air brakes preferred, or ability to obtain 

• Michigan Heavy Duty certifications preferred 

• ASE certifications a plus 

• Ability to supply personal hand tools 

• Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork 

• Ability to pass physical and pre-employment and random drug screens (including marijuana)
