ACCOUNTANT – Richmond OFFICE (IN-OFFICE ONLY)

Our award-winning team is growing, and DF Architecture is hiring an Accountant to be based out of our Richmond Office. Please note: This is a full-time, in-office position (Monday to Friday). No remote or hybrid options are available.
About the Position
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to support the financial operations for our group of architectural firms. The ideal candidate is organized, experienced, and confident in managing all aspects of accounting, reporting, and payroll.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Accounts Receivable functions, including preparing invoices and conducting collections calls professionally.
- Manage invoicing and tracking through:
- Complete month-end invoicing with accuracy and ensure all entries are correct.
- Manage payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
- Track and reconcile all company expenses, including receipts, invoices, and backup documentation.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports for the owner.
- Assist with Accounts Payable, vendor reconciliations, and payment scheduling.
- Prepare monthly bank account statements and balances for each company under Group 161.
- Prepare monthly bank account statements and financial summaries for Jessie’s properties, including owning balances and related details.
- Maintain and update accounting records with accuracy in QuickBooks.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end preparation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies or missing information.
- Provide support during audits and prepare required documentation.
- Perform additional financial and administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- MUST know how to use QuickBooks (strong proficiency required).
- Experience with BQE software is an asset but not mandatory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong understanding of A/R, A/P, payroll, and general accounting processes.
- Excellent communication skills, especially for collections and follow-ups.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is recommended.
