Litigation Associate - NJ

As a member of our New Jersey litigation team, you will have the opportunity to handle matters from inception through resolution, including:

• →Managing an active litigation caseload.
• →Communicating directly with clients and other professionals.
• →Drafting pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• →Review and summarize medical and other discovery records.
• →Taking and defending depositions.
• →Conducting legal research and developing case strategy.
• →Appearing in New Jersey State and Federal Courts.
• →Participating in conferences, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other ADR proceedings.
• →Working with experts and investigating factual and legal issues.
• →Preparing matters for trial.
• →Participating in and based upon experience, handling trials and appeals.

Our Associates receive meaningful courtroom and litigation experience while working collaboratively with Partners and senior attorneys on sophisticated matters.

Qualified candidates should have:

• At least 2 years of New Jersey litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense litigation.
• Admission to the New Jersey State Bar required.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Familiarity with New Jersey State court practice and electronic filing.
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• Strong organizational, communication, and client-service skills.

Experience with premises liability, transportation, trucking/automobile and rideshare claims, liquor liability matters, or other first- and third-party personal and commercial lines litigation is also beneficial.

Federal Court admission and trial experience are a plus.
