Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer for Grupo Bimbo, this role leads a geographically dispersed organization of more than 60 associates across Canada, the United States, and Costa Rica (service centre), including a direct team to lead of Directors and Managers responsible for direct materials, packaging, indirect, commodity risk management, supplier relationships, and enterprise procurement initiatives. The role is accountable for ensuring procurement remains deeply embedded within the businesses it supports, delivering measurable business outcomes while balancing the unique priorities and objectives of multiple independent business units. The successful candidate will continue the evolution of a high-performing procurement organization, building upon a strong reputation for business partnership, talent development, productivity delivery, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Value Creation Lead the development and execution of procurement strategies that create measurable enterprise value across business units in Canada and the United States. Deliver significant and sustainable productivity through strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, value engineering, process improvements, and commercial innovation. Identify, evaluate, and execute opportunities to improve profitability, reduce total cost of ownership, and support business growth initiatives. Ensure procurement strategies are aligned with short-term business priorities and long-term enterprise objectives. Procurement Leadership Provide strategic leadership for North America Procurement, including direct materials, packaging, and enterprise-wide procurement initiatives. Establish clear priorities and direction for the procurement organization while ensuring alignment across multiple business units. Drive excellence in category management, supplier relationship management, sourcing governance, and procurement execution. Continue advancing procurement maturity across all categories, with particular focus on expanding capabilities within indirect procurement. Supply Assurance and Risk Management Ensure continuity of supply across all critical materials and services required to support business operations. Lead proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of supply chain, supplier, commodity, geopolitical, and business continuity risks. Partner with Global Procurement teams to develop and execute commodity risk management strategies. Ensure appropriate contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies are in place for critical categories and suppliers. Working Capital and Financial Performance Partner with Finance and business unit leadership teams to improve working capital performance and cash flow. Lead supplier engagement strategies that support payment term optimization and working capital objectives. Provide strategic input regarding inflation, commodity markets, pricing trends, supplier economics, and financial risk. Translate supplier market intelligence into actionable business recommendations. Business Partnership Serve as a trusted advisor to business unit leadership teams across Canada and the United States. Build strong relationships with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Global Procurement leadership. Ensure procurement remains embedded within business priorities and decision-making processes. Act as an enterprise connector, bringing together functions, stakeholders, and suppliers to enable enterprise-wide productivity and value creation. Transformation and Continuous Improvement Continue the transformation journey of the Procurement organization by advancing capabilities, processes, governance, analytics, and ways of working. Champion innovation, digital tools, data-driven decision-making, and emerging technologies that improve organizational effectiveness. Introduce external best practices and challenge existing processes in a thoughtful and constructive manner. Identify opportunities to accelerate procurement maturity while preserving organizational momentum and business results. Talent and Organizational Leadership Lead, develop, and inspire a geographically dispersed team of leaders and procurement professionals. Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance. Develop succession plans for critical roles and create a strong pipeline of future procurement leaders. Maintain high engagement and retention through effective leadership, coaching, and development. Foster an environment where associates are challenged, supported, and empowered to grow. Lead through influence while maintaining accountability for results Education and Work History: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field. Significant procurement leadership experience within a large Consumer Packaged Goods, food manufacturing, or similarly complex environment. Demonstrated success leading procurement organizations across multiple business units, regions, and stakeholder groups. Experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives involving procurement processes, technology, organizational capability, or operating models. Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, category management, supplier relationship management, commodity risk management, and working capital optimization. Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and shape business outcomes. Experience building and leading high-performing teams. Preferred Qualifications: Experience operating within a matrixed global organization. Experience collaborating with global procurement organizations and influencing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies. Experience advancing procurement maturity within indirect spend categories.
