AI Transformation & Enablement Associate Director

Help shape the future of clinical development through AI

GSK’s Development Operations Platforms & Innovation team is building the capabilities needed to deploy AI at scale across clinical operations. We are looking for an AI Transformation and Enablement Associate Director to turn agentic AI into practical, measurable improvements in how clinical trials are planned, delivered and continuously improved.

Reporting to the Head of Asset Acceleration and AI, you will lead the transformation programme, enable colleagues to use frontier AI tools effectively, and oversee the portfolio that turns promising ideas and workflows into scalable solutions

In this role you will

• Define and deliver the agentic AI strategy and multi-year roadmap for Development Operations.
• Drive adoption of AI tools across teams through training, communications, launch readiness and a Champion Network.
• Evaluate frontier, open-weight and locally run AI models, balancing effectiveness, cost, quality and compliant deployment.
• Own the Development Operations skills and workflow library, setting standards and enabling teams to build safely.
• Identify high-value workflows and partner with technical teams to move the strongest solutions into production.
• Lead delivery of the AI portfolio, managing priorities, milestones, dependencies, risks and governance.
• Measure value through outcomes such as adoption, quality, cycle time and readiness to scale.
• Work with functional leaders to redesign processes, roles and ways of working around the opportunities created by AI.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

• A bachelor’s degree in life sciences, engineering, computer science, business or a related field.
• Experience in pharmaceutical strategy, applied AI or technology, transformation, programme delivery, consulting or a comparable venture-building environment.
• A strong understanding of pharmaceutical clinical development.
• Practical knowledge of agentic AI systems, including context, memory, tool use, orchestration, evaluation and reliability.
• Hands-on experience using frontier agentic development tools, rapidly prototyping solutions and evaluating their value against a baseline.
• Experience taking a new technology or way of working from early adoption to routine use across a distributed organisation.
• Strong programme or portfolio management experience, including multiple workstreams, governance, dependencies and risk.
• Experience working in a regulated environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and strategic topics to senior, non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

·        An advanced degree in a relevant discipline.

·        Evidence of independently building AI skills, agents, tools or prototypes.

·        Hands-on clinical operations experience and an understanding of GxP expectations.

·        Experience translating technology adoption into meaningful changes to processes, roles or operating models.
