The Senior Director, Pipeline and Product Communications owns the global communications strategy for ViiV’s industry-leading pipeline and portfolio and setting clear priorities for how the company communicates its most important scientific, portfolio and launch milestones. The role reports into the Head of Global Communications and partners closely with regional communications leads for priority assets and launches and positions ViiV as a leader in long-acting HIV innovation. As senior communications business partner to the SVP Head of R&D and SVP Chief Medical Officer, the role provides strategic counsel on reputation, scientific storytelling, disclosure readiness and issues management, translating complex science into meaningful, business-relevant narratives for internal and external audiences.

The role is accountable for integrated strategic communications plans aligned to ViiV’s pipeline and portfolio priorities, ensuring consistent, high-impact news flow around data, regulatory milestones, scientific congresses and other key moments. As ViiV prepares for upcoming treatment and prevention launches, this role will steward communications that build momentum, partner with scientific communications on publication planning and data dissemination, differentiate ViiV and stakeholder confidence and contribute to the ambition of becoming the LAI Powerhouse.

This is a senior leadership role requiring strong scientific understanding, credibility with senior stakeholders, strategic judgment and the ability to lead through complexity. The role leads the Pipeline and Product Communications team and works in close partnership with the broader ViiV Global Communications team, ViiV US Communications team, R&D, Medical, GSK Communications, Investor Relations and agency partners. It requires the ability to prioritise, influence and deliver at pace across complex, concurrent projects, while setting the operating model for pipeline and product communications and identifying the moments that matter most for ViiV’s reputation, launch readiness and transformation into the LAI Powerhouse.

• Bachelor's degree & 10 plus years of experience working in pharmaceuticals OR healthcare sector communications (in-house OR agency)
• People Management experience
• Experience developing, implementing and measuring external communications strategies and tactics that support business objectives within a large global organisation
• Experience creating articles, social media posts, blogs, speeches and video scripts for leadership
• Experience with organic, paid and social media environment and experience of media relations.
• Experience working with stakeholders within the business to provide strategic insights-led communications support and counsel to leadership.
• Experience working with stakeholders across different functions and across different cultures and countries
• Project management experience
• Experience working in a matrixed team
• Healthcare industry experience, including regulations and codes of conduct governing communications
