Pay:

HK$34,705 to HK$40,220 (HGPS point 13 to 16) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist supervisors and managers in the management of day-to-day (DTD) building and facilities repair and maintenance works, facility management, project management services and providing technical support to Kwai Chung Hospital (KCH) and clinics under KCH. Major duties include, but not limited to:

1.      Assisting in monitoring the performance of consultants, contractors and service providers.

2.      Providing technical support to project works in relation to the building works/building services matters.

3.      Monitoring the standard and quality of materials and workmanship of building works/building services against the contract requirements and other recognized standards.

4.      Monitoring the progress of works and participating in open-up inspections, field testing and handover inspection in relation to building works, and testing and commissioning for building services installations.

5.      Liaising with contractors, consultants and other parties concerned on technical matters relating to users’ requirements, access, disturbance, programme, etc. for efficient execution of works and projects.

6.      Monitoring safety and health matters and ensuring work safety while carrying out daily works.

7.      Leading internal facility inspection or audit as required.

8.      Performing administrative work including record-taking, report-writing, works order preparation, defects and outstanding works list etc., as required.

9.      Carrying out emergency responses in accordance with hospital and department contingency plans.

10.  Performing shift duty, attend emergency calls and be on duty during adverse weather.

11.  Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Entry Requirements:

1. a) A Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College / Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent.

OR

b) 5 years of relevant working experience as skilled worker in the field of Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;

OR

c) Completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

2. At least 3 years’ site supervisory experience subsequent to fulfilling (1) above.

3. A knowledge of English and Chinese equivalent to Form 3 (before 2012) / Secondary 3 standard.

4. Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card).

Preferable attributes:

1.      Has 5 years of experience in related fields with at least 3 years in supervisory level.

2.      Experience in supervising maintenance and improvement works in healthcare facilities would be an advantage.

3.      Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.

4.      Responsible, self-motivated and able to work independently under minimum supervision.

5.      Good interpersonal skills, outgoing, able to work under pressure and stressful situations, including crises.

6.      Experience in conducting handover inspection, defects checking, testing and commissioning of mechanical system, central air-conditioning system, BMS/CMMS, or electrical system in hospital.

7.      Proficiency in the use of common office automation and PC applications (e.g. e-mail, MS Office, Computer-based Maintenance Management System(CMMS), AutoCAD, etc.).

8.      Able to work on shift and on-site/off-site on call duties.

9.      Has formal training in occupational safety and health is an advantage.

10.  Registered electrical worker, class B, as registered in the list of EMSD.
