The Opportunity

We're looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our Inspection team in Banbury on a 5-month fixed-term contract, supporting a critical phase of the Formula 1 car build programme.

Working alongside our Quality Control and Supplier Quality Engineers, you'll help ensure every component meets the exacting standards required to perform at the highest level of motorsport. From inspecting incoming parts and managing non-conformances to supporting testing activities and continuous improvement initiatives, you'll play a key role in maintaining quality, reliability, and delivery throughout the car build period.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect goods received, carrying out dimensional and visual checks against engineering drawings and master samples.
  • Work alongside the Quality Control Engineer within the guidelines of the Haas Quality Management System.
  • Support Supplier Quality activities, including reporting, analysis, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Raise concessions and rejection notes where required, ensuring compliance with established quality procedures.
  • Ensure components are correctly laser engraved with the required identifying information.
  • Assist the R&D team with rig testing and validation of components.
  • Contribute to quality audits, inspections, and documentation activities.
  • Support compliance with quality standards, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes, quality performance, and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • GCSEs, High School Diploma, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Further education, such as an Apprenticeship, Trade School qualification, or University Degree, is desirable.
  • Experience working within a Quality Control or Quality Assurance environment.
  • Experience inspecting components in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience producing quality reports, inspection records, and related documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical and quality-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to remain organised and focused in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

It Would Be An Advantage If You Also Have

  • Experience within Formula 1, motorsport, aerospace, or another high-performance engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of CMM machines and programming software.
  • Experience using Leica T-Probe, 3D scanning hardware, or PolyWorks software.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience using precision measurement equipment, including gauges and micrometers.
  • Understanding of supplier quality processes and auditing activities.

The Contract

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis for an initial 5 months to provide temporary cover for critical car build programme.

It is anticipated that, following completion of the car build programme and transition into the race season, workload levels will return to normal and the requirement for this additional resource will cease.
