Responsibilities

  • →Responsible for the constructability, operability, and maintainability of the design within his/her discipline for the assigned project.
  • →Provides comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input into design related to his/her discipline for assigned projects.
  • →Responsible for the preparation of detailed design drawings within his/her discipline, in accordance with engineering design, required as project deliverables.
  • →Provides continual guidance to drafters within his/her discipline for assigned projects.
  • →Communicates and coordinates with Lead Designer for respective discipline to promote smooth, accurate, and scheduled completion of deliverables.
  • →Reviews drawings within his/her discipline for assigned projects on a regular basis for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.
  • →Ensures all drawings within his/her discipline for assigned projects have been properly checked and backchecked.
  • →Prepares and/or directs the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal relative to all project deliverables.
  • →Possesses an awareness of project schedule and budget.
  • →Assists with Project Audits when required.
     

  • Familiarity with the current version of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to perform lighting level calculations.
  • Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for both lighting and power applications.
  • Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.
  • Ability to route conduit and cable tray.
  • Ability to calculate tray and conduit fill.
  • Ability to determine motor control center loading.
  • Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment.
  • Ability to create accurate electrical installation documents from the information found on vendor equipment drawings.
  • Ability to determine load center unit substation loading.
  • Knowledge and understanding of workflow/information flow between disciplines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all electrical deliverables.
  • Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • SPI Proficient with AutoCAD. Experience with Drawing file/archive system and SAP.
  • Good communication and Virtual team skills
