  • Starts, stops and adjusts SUB/Ultrapak packaging machines and supporting equipment to ensure optimum flow of nuts from package filler to casing, and palletizing.
  • Assures there are proper levels of packaging materials and supplies to optimize operations.
  • Conducts minor repairs, adjustments, and changeovers on key parts of equipment.  Assists in major repairs and maintenance as directed.
  • Cleans, lubricates, and inspects equipment in accordance with operating requirements, documents general maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure package integrity, proper date-code and accurate counting for product, case and pallet.
  • Monitors the operation of the scale systems, conducts weight checks, makes any necessary adjustments, and cleans scales as required.
  • Keeps work areas and equipment clean, orderly, and sanitary in accordance with 5S Program practices.
  • Directs work of packaging line crew members.
  • Prepares and maintains necessary reports and accounting records for materials, supplies, finished goods, spillage, holdovers, etc.
  • Performs all related barcode scanning duties for materials and finished goods, inputs related data into computer system.
  • Reports major problems to shift supervisor.
  • Ensures that all pallets of finished products are properly stretched wrapped.
  • Performs related tasks as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required for the position.
  • This position requires shift rotation.
  • Observes all safety/health policies and procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year mechanical or related experience.
  • Two (2) + years of electro-mechanical experience preferred.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, copy machine, computer, calculator, conveyors, electronic controls and scale systems.
  • Seldom:  Crouching, stooping, twisting, pinching, gripping, wrist movement, repetitive motion, squatting, kneeling, climbing.
  • Occasional:  Finger dexterity, pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent:  Walking, reaching overhead, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Constant:   Standing, depth perception, full field.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, receive verbal and written instruction, and apply basic math skills.

  • Exposure to noise (85+ dB).
  • Exposure to heat (up to 85 degrees F) and cold (up to 60 degrees F).
  • Exposure to vibrations.
  • May work at heights up to ten (10) ft.
  • Exposure to dust, paints, thinners, Epoxy and lubricants.
  • Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards.
