Manager, Software Engineering BigFix Endpoint Management

Position overview
We're hiring a Manager of Software Engineering to lead one of the core delivery teams building BigFix and its suite of products a fast, intuitive solution for compliance
endpoint, and security management across physical and virtual endpoints through a single infrastructure, console and agent. You'll manage a team of engineers, own the technical direction of your area, and be the person who turns high level product requirements into a design and delivery plan the team can actually execute against on a recurring quarterly release cadence
This is a working technical manager role, not a purely administrative one: you're expected to be close enough to the architecture to unblock low-level design decisions, review code, and make the call on how the team's automation and CI/CD pipeline should evolve while also owning people development, workload distribution, and delivery commitments
What you'll do
Lead and manage a team of software engineers delivering BigFix's endpoint management capabilities,planning,estimation, execution, and day-to-day people management
Own translation of high-level product requirements into lowlevel designs early enough that design work doesn't eat into the 3-4 sprints typically available per quarterly release;build a forward-looking design pipeline so requirements known months out get scoped ahead of time,not at sprint start
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, enterprise architects, and product managers to define requirements and flag platform/dependency risk before it becomes a latecycle blocker
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and career development to the team; run code and design reviews, and drive adoption of engineering best practices and coding standards
Actively cross-train the team beyond individual component ownership so delivery doesn't stall when one or two people are on leave spread review load and design exposure across the group rather than concentrating it in specialists
Run joint technical syncs with adjacent squads working on overlapping areas, to keep design and delivery coordinated across team boundaries
Own the maturity of the team's test-automation and CI/CD pipeline moving from broad, repetitive coverage toward a leaner regression strategy that runs continuously and surfaces defects fast
Guide the team's approach to cloud-native and AI/ML-driven features within the endpoint management platform (e.g)anomaly-detection models, multi-node/multi-operator architectures, timezone-aware processing
Manage the software development lifecycle end to end and report on delivery pacing, technical risk, and quality to engineering leadership
Stay current on industry trends in cybersecurity, endpoint management, and AI-driven operations relevant to the roadmap

Prior people-management experience hiring, mentoring, performance conversations, workload and career planning for a team of engineers.
Strong, hands-on technical background sufficient to make or unblock design decisions, not just review them confirm current stack with the team (candidates should have deep proficiency in whichever of Java, Python, Node.js, or Go the org standardizes on).Solid understanding of endpoint security management,patch strategies,cybersecurity
