Healthcare United is seeking an experienced OB/GYN Medical Director Physician for a full-time outpatient opportunity in Fairfield County, Connecticut. This position offers a strong mix of clinical care and leadership, with approximately 75% direct patient care and 25% administrative responsibilities. The physician will provide outpatient OB/GYN care while also supporting clinical operations, quality initiatives, provider performance, team-based care, documentation standards, and overall care delivery across assigned locations. The ideal candidate will be a mission-driven OB/GYN physician with strong clinical skills, leadership experience, and a desire to serve a diverse community patient population. The Medical Director will work closely with executive clinical leadership, nursing leadership, operations, practice management, quality, and clinical informatics teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Job Responsibilities Provide outpatient OB/GYN care to patients in a community health setting Serve as a clinical leader for OB/GYN services across assigned locations Maintain a role consisting of approximately 75% clinical care and 25% administrative responsibilities Work closely with the Chief Medical Officer, nursing leadership, operations, practice managers, and clinical staff Support day-to-day clinical operations and delivery of patient care Provide guidance, supervision, mentorship, and support to clinicians and clinical teams Help advance team-based care models across assigned departments and locations Monitor clinician productivity, clinical performance, quality metrics, and documentation standards Participate in peer review activities and quality improvement initiatives Collaborate with clinical informatics staff to improve EPIC workflows, documentation, in-basket management, and operational efficiency Assist with clinician staffing, scheduling, coverage needs, and productivity goals Review clinician quality scorecards and support improvement efforts Help ensure adherence to clinical protocols, daily huddles, and organizational care standards Partner with leadership to meet clinical, quality, financial, and operational goals Support patient-centered care delivery across a diverse community patient population Serve as a senior clinical resource when needed Requirements MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology Active or eligible unrestricted Connecticut medical license Active Federal DEA and Controlled Substance Registration Current CPR certification required ACLS certification required Three to five years of clinical management experience preferred Outpatient OB/GYN, community health, FQHC, public health, or women’s health leadership experience preferred Strong clinical operations knowledge Ability to supervise, advise, mentor, and support physicians and clinical staff Experience monitoring provider productivity, quality metrics, peer review, and documentation standards Strong understanding of quality, safety, infection control, and ethical standards of care EPIC experience preferred Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively with diverse patients, providers, staff, and leadership teams Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required MHA or MPH preferred but not required Benefits Competitive compensation Full-time outpatient position 100% outpatient setting Mix of clinical care and administrative leadership Opportunity to serve in a physician leadership role Strong clinical and operational support Collaborative team-based care environment Excellent health and welfare benefit options Patient-centered, mission-driven practice setting Opportunity to support women’s health care across a diverse Fairfield County community
