WGAL-TV, the Hearst-owned NBC affiliate serving the Harrisburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York, PA market has an immediate opening for a Meteorologist / Weather Reporter.

We’re looking for both expertise and personality. You understand the science, and you also understand that great weather coverage is about connecting with people. You can explain why tomorrow’s forecast matters, be a trusted voice when severe weather threatens, confidently report from the middle of a developing weather story, and bring energy and curiosity to a community event.

If you’re a meteorologist who loves forecasting, thrives during live coverage and genuinely enjoys connecting with viewers and the community, we want to hear from you.

Our ideal candidate will be one who thinks outside the box – can deliver a polished in-studio forecast and then turn right around and produce an engaging, memorable vertical video about a timely weather topic.

Innovation is critical: whether it’s in the middle of a snowstorm or a community fair, you’re always looking for new and creative ways to tell the best story. We’re looking for a storyteller at heart: with the ability to write and craft a weather-related report fit for any screen. You will produce enterprise content and deliver accurate forecasts across television, digital and other platforms. This position reports to the News Director.
