Metrology Lab Technician I

Assist in the reverse engineering and drawing creation of FAA approved aftermarket aircraft parts by using a variety of precision measurement tools and methods, and providing feedback and recommendations to engineers regarding part features, drawing layout and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) usage.

• →Competently use a variety of metrology inspection tools to assist in the reverse engineering of aircraft parts
• →Use 3D CAD software to develop/interpret drawings and scans
• →Perform special projects or assignment to support department
• →Manage time effectively and consistently meet task deadlines
• →Create dimensional data reports in Excel
• →Collaborate closely with engineering and metrology groups to ensure department goals are achieved
• →Mentor and assist in training of Engineering interns
• →Operate OGP Starlite, optical comparator, and height gage

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
